full time Research Coordinator - Temp to Hire

at FoodLaunch (Anywhere)

Rapidly growing, local food marketing and consulting firm in Clearwater (www.FoodLaunch.com) is expanding and seeks an energetic and organized multi-tasker to fill the role of Research Coordinator. Ideal candidate will spearhead preliminary research and planning activities necessary for our marketing and executive team to develop business plans and launch new gourmet/specialty food products. Outlined below are the job duties and requirements:

1. Activities/Duties:

a. Market Research (gather data in regards to size of market, market trends, market growth, opportunities, case studies, merger/acquisitions, etc)

b. Comparative/competition Analysis – “Mystery Shopper”. Compile detailed database of competing brands in segment.

c. Source product packaging and obtain pricing quotes from vendors/suppliers

d. Locate potential manufacturers and conduct preliminary interview/pre-qualification.

2. Required skills and experience

a. Excellent written and verbal communications skills a MUST, creative and copywriting skills a huge plus

b. Computer and Web literacy an absolute must. Use of MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and experience in web applications and web research mandatory. Must be able to create perfectly formatted documents in Excel and Word. PowerPoint helpful but not required.

c. Multi-tasking – must have ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an organized and timely fashion.

3. Helpful, but not mandatory:

  • Product Naming/Branding strategy development (and/or understanding of branding principles)
*Domain Name and Trademark Search Experience and/or knowledge *Business Plan Basics *Entrepreneurial background and/or attitude *Experience in CPG industry very helpful, preferably food/beverage (working at a restaurant does not count) *College degree in marketing, business, English, and/or finance helpful, but equivalent experience will suffice

This is a 2 month temporary position with an opportunity for the right person to advance in a growing and fun company. Candidate will be required to work from our Clearwater office during business hours, 30 hours per week. The first 2 months will be on a 1099 sub-contract basis.
